Training 9/25 -  Hill Resistance!

It snowed! super fun to watch the huge flakes last night and wake up to just a smattering accumulated on cars and in the shade. Winter is coming!

We will now be moving into our next block of training, Hill Resistance! Yay! For hill resistance we are working towards getting our speed on. We are moving out of our OD blocks and ready for serious speed! If you haven't found your short poles you will need them for Wednesday.

We also have our fun race this weekend (Race to the Tetons) AND MBNA Trail day so it will be a busy Saturday but super fun!

Here is the group training for this week. As always everyone is welcome, just come to the appropriate place and introduce yourself!

Monday
  • Off
Tuesday
  • 6am, Crossfit 7220 - Run, Strength
  • 5:30pm, Education Gym -  Yoga
Wednesday
  • 4:3o, Stadium Parking lot with poles! Hill-resistance!
Thursday
  • 6am, Crossfit 7220 - Run, Strength
  • 5:30pm, Education Gym - Yoga
Friday
  • 6am - Turtle Rock Coffee - Breakfast Club! Rollerski then bring money for breakfast or just hang out with us and chat!
Saturday
  • Race start at 8:30am, be sure to get a good warmup.
  • Teams:
    • Team 1: Leann, Ben, Ella, Maddy, Morgan & Sydney
    • Team 2: Trevor, Amber, Kit Kat, Michaela, Nick & Rylie
  • Meet after the race to head to the MBNA Trail day, they will give us lunch!
Sunday
  • You should try for an OD run/bike/rollerski of at least 2hrs.

Sounds like a SUPER fun weekend!

Woo Hoo! What an adventure was had on Saturday! That's how to build GRIT!

We also had a successful fundraising activity on Saturday. Thanks to all the UW & LHS Athletes who participated. Well done everyone!

The UW racers just finished your first entire week of school, well done!

We have the exciting plan of doing a Medal Test this Wednesday! If you want to see how your fitness improves throughout the fall and/or from year to year this is the thing for you. Also, you can try to get yourself on the leaderboard! You can find the results at: http://uwnordic.weebly.com/medal-test-results--records.html  

Medal Test Activities:
  • 3000m run
  • 2x1min pushups, situps, dips, pullups
  • 1min box jumps

We will also be taking a weekend off! This is a good chance to do something fun or go home or get extra homework done!

Wow! The first full week of classes, crazy!

We'll also be doing our first full week of training with ALL the things!

T-F should be familiar and we'll do a fun run/hike/loop up Medicine Bow Peak on Saturday. Don't worry, this is MUCH easier than Mt. Massive!

We will also host a Medal Test on Sunday morning for anyone who wants to see how they stack up to previous athletes. You can find the results at:

Wow! What a super amazing and fun weekend! We did so much adventuring!

Most of us are worn out so we will be doing shorter hours this week. We are in the Conditioning/Quadraped part of the year so please bring poles to run with!

We also have an awesome fundraising activity this Saturday, should be great fun!

  • OFF!!! Take a nap!
Wednesday
  • 5pm, Coaches house (if you need a ride let us know). UW Nordic Team Meeting. If you are a UW student and are interested in joining the team be sure to come!
Thursday
  • 6am, Crossfit 7220 - Run, Strength
  • 5:30pm, Education Gym - Yoga to work out those sore muscles!
Friday
  • 6am - Turtle Rock Coffee - Breakfast Club! Rollerski then bring money for breakfast or just hang out with us and chat!
Saturday
  • 8am - Coaches house - Rollerski location TBA
