The crew at the Memorial Day Camp!
Woo Hoo!

What an AMAZING Memorial Day Training Camp! So many excited skiers learning so much and having an amazing amount of fun! Thanks to all the campers and the college mentors who made this a success!

This week we will be doing a bit of a recovery week but then hitting the weekend hard with our first long race of the season, the Leadville 20km! Should be great fun as we follow our Half with a crust ski on Sunday.

It's late in the week but we had the camp concluding on Monday and a day of yesterday so this is the training for the rest of the week.

Remember that we will not only post the team training but additional training based upon our Peppers. If you don't know what we mean by Peppers you can check it out at Peppers - Training Groups

Reminder: if you don't know your Pepper please discuss it with coaches. Training is just like with eating hot peppers - it doesn't matter how much you WANT to do nor how much you think you should do but how much your body is actually able to handle. Thus to reach your best performance from year to year you want to be thoughtful in your approach to increasing your training load.

Team Training
  • Wednesday:
  • Thursday: 5pm 1303 Renshaw (Coaches House) - OD Skate Rollerski (1:30)
  • Friday: 6:30am Turtle Rock Coffee - OD Double-Pole Rollerski (1:15)
  • Saturday: Leadville 20km
  • Sunday: Active Recovery Crust ski (1:30)

Peppers
All additional workouts should be Over Distance or Active Recovery at this time. You can also choose the type of activity you would like. Anything will work as long as you are in the correct zone!
  • Banana, Cayenne, Tabasco, Jalapeno, Thai, Rocoto - No additional workouts
  • Habanero - :45 of OD
  • Ghost - 1:15 of OD
  • Naga - 1:30 of OD
