Basic Glide Waxing (Thank you to Caldwell Sport)
NEW SKI PREP:
  1. Brass or steel brush the ski very well (the skis often have a lot of dirt on them)
  2. Clean the base with glide base cleaner, if available. If not then use a cloth to brush off the residual from brushing
  3. Glide wax with very warm wax, yellow or base prep wax is best. Use plenty, do not try to conserve wax at this stage.
  4. Cool and scrape
  5. Follow steps 3 & 4 until you have glide waxed both skis 3 times
  6. On the 4th waxing glide wax with a cold wax, blue or green.
  7. Cool, scrape and nylon brush
  8. Glide wax with more midrange wax, like red.
  9. Cool, scrape and nylon brush
  10. Ski on them and wax them after every ski. The skis will get faster if you ski on them and then wax them again. Adding more layers at this stage is counterproductive without using them on snow! The more you ski and wax them the faster they will be!
