Training 4/13 - Keep Playing!

The training right now is pretty uniform from a training schedule point of view BUT  you really should be playing!

If biking sounds fun, do that, if you can ski, do that, if climbing is your jam, do that! This is your chance to just have some fun! We realize that some of your favorite options may be off limits due to social distancing and stay at home orders. Try this workout out for fun: Jazzercise

Also, if you haven't already you should check out the The Epic Quest

Also, don't forget our Yo-Ski and Erica's Yoga

If you aren't finding something else to do here is the training for the week. Please take it easy on your body!

Here is the training for this week:
  • 2 x 30 minute-ish Aerobic workouts, like running, rollerskiing, biking, etc YOUR CHOICE!. Try to get outside!
  • Tuesday:
    • Strength on your own
    • 5pm, Core & Yoga! Zoom Link: https://uwyo.zoom.us/j/702276890
  • Wednesday: 30 minute-ish Aerobic workout, like running, rollerskiing, biking, etc YOUR CHOICE!. Try to get outside!
  • Thursday:
    • Strength on your own
    • 5pm, Core & Yoga! Zoom Link: https://uwyo.zoom.us/j/702276890
  • Friday: 30 minute-ish Aerobic workout, like running, rollerskiing, biking, etc YOUR CHOICE!. Try to get outside!
  • Saturday: OD workout of 1:30ish with an activity of your choice. The crust skiing in the Snowies is divine!!!

Training 3/30 - COVID-19 & Spring Training

After a truly amazing Nationals, which contained some phenomenal performances, both individually and as a team, we drove back into a new reality. This spring will take some hard work, creativity, and dedication to be successful in school, skiing and LIFE!

As we move forward we want to encourage all of you to reach out to coaches and teammates. We can do this together!

We will start our 'group' training on Thursday and we want our team to be the model of social distancing and, probably inevitably, stay at home. Please take this seriously because although you may not get seriously ill from this many people in your lives can become very ill and may die, including your parents, grandparents, aunts/uncles, and others. How you behave will ultimately have a huge impact on their very survival.

In order to help you train AND social distance we will be 'meeting' virtually for some workouts and posting the others you should be doing. We will also be creating 'Office Hours' for you to meet with the coaches to chat about training, life, the Universe, and everything!

Finally, by the end of this week we will be creating a virtual training game. You will need to create a 'Guild' of 6-10 members for a support network with a team name so start working on that.

The training for this time of year is about re-balancing and having fun so you will see a lot of flexibility in your workouts!

  • You want to do one OD workout of 1:30ish with an activity of your choice.
  • Otherwise PLAY! Get outside for a walk, jump rope, hike, bike, just find something active to do!
  • Thursday:
    • Strength (video of strength activities you can do at home coming!)

Wow! What a fantastic weekend of racing!

Congrats to Ella & Matt for the wins and to the Mens team both days and the Women for the team win on Saturday.
  • Monday: TAKE A NAP. That is the official training for the day so do it!
  • Tuesday: 5:10, Corbett Gym Recovery Yoga
  • Wednesday: 4:15, Stadium Parking lot - Skate Intervals
  • Thursday: Nap, stretching, rolling, take care of yourself
  • Friday: Rest, recover, pack, take a nap, If you can't stand it a short, 30min, run or ski is OK.
    • Nationals Team Leaving for DIA at 10:30
  • Saturday: Travel to Lake Placid
  • Sunday: Ski the courses and we're off!

I'd say Slay the Dragon BUT with the idea of keeping the genie in the bottle...We'll let the Dragon rest this week before the ultimate battle!
