Training 2/5 - DU/CSU Races!

Wow! What an awesomely beautiful weekend of racing - the trails, the weather, and the people! Also, WOW on the women's team! Five of the six podium spots! As well as Kaj for the double podium AND for some incredible finishes by Sean, Austin, Eliot and the rest of the men. Crazy great weekend!

We have officially started our peaking program so things will change at times so pay attention and please don't start new activities. We only have 4 weeks until Nationals so it's time to start concentrating on staying/getting healthy, eating well, resting and focusing your energy where it is needed!

This peaking programs works extremely well if you
  • If do the training properly and don't do too much (you'll get tired and not race to your potential).
  • If you do the training properly and don't do too little (you'll get sick!)
Even if you are not qualifying for Nationals this will help you with the last couple of races and if you decide to do any other races!​

The workouts we have on the schedule are not all team practices BUT if you want to be at your best for the ski season they are ALL super important!
 Team Training will be in Green bold italics

Monday:
  • 1hr Active Recovery
Tuesday:
  • 20min morning Check-in run
  • 5:00 pm, Stadium to carpool. ON SNOW STRENGTH! We will go ski at Happy Jack.
Wednesday: 
  • 20min morning Check-in run
  • 4pm Stadium Parking Lot Classic Intervals
Thursday:
  • 20min morning Check-in run
  • ELITE TEAM:
    • Leave for Minturn to ski the course and test kick
  • COMP & REC Teams
    • 5pm Corbett Gym - Core & Yoga (Message for zoom link)
Friday:
  • ELITE TEAM:
    • 10km Mass Start Classic
  • COMP & REC Teams
    • ​On your own: race prep ski OR 30-45min run.
Saturday:
  • ELITE TEAM:
    • 7.5km Interval Start Skate
  • COMP & REC Teams:
    • ​Early morning leave from Laramie
    • Classic Team Sprint
  • EVERYONE:
    • ​Rocky Mountain Conference pizza party!
Sunday:
  • 7.5km Skate Interval Start​
