FORO Information

Yay! We have gotten to one of the funnest weeks of the year! Fort Robinson!

Remember that you need to be SNOW Member and signed the SNOW Waiver (this is for insurance) before coming on this trip. Signing up is FREE for UW Nordic Members, just fill out the Membership Form

You also need to pay your club dues!
 Here is the plan for this weekend.

Everyone will need to bring all your breakfast and lunch food. There is NOWHERE to buy anything so bring it! We will do team dinners but you need food for breakfast and lunch. You will be asked to assist in cooking and cleanup.

Friday:
  • Arrive at coaches and ready for departure - Consider carpooling to get to coaches', there is limited parking. Also, you can move from the early group to later but you cannot move from later to earlier, there is no space!
    • Group #1: Leave at 2pm, MAX of 12 people, arrive at FoRo between 5:30-6

  • Dinner will be cooked by the early crew. The late crew can get snacks and we'll feed you when you arrive!
Saturday:
  • 8:00am - On your own breakfast (the team will provide eggs and milk; please bring everything else you would want to eat)
  • 9:00am - Hillbounding (please watch this video to find all the kinds we will be doing)
  • 11:00 am - back for 2nd Breakfast, early lunch or both
  • 12-3:30 - Study Time, Nap, rolling, legs up the wall, or just get horizontal
  • 3:30 - Classic Rollerski OD (pre-ski the time trial course)
  • 6:00pm - Dinner

  • 3:30 - Skate Rollerski agility & technique
  • 5:00pm - optional yoga
  • 6:00pm - Dinner
  • 7pm - Activity

Monday:
  • 8am - leave no later than this for time-trial start line
  • 8:30am - Skate Time-trial uphill Rollerski
  • Historical FORO Results (let's break some records!!)
  • Kitchen & House final Cleanup. Note that Everyone needs to help clean and organize the house when we leave!

To bring:
  • Your own breakfast for Saturday, Sunday, Monday and lunch for Saturday and Sunday (the team will provide eggs and milk; please bring everything else you would want to eat)
  • running shoes
  • rollerskis - Classic and Skate if you have them.
  • rollerski poles
  • Hillbounding poles
  • Helmet
  • Yoga Mat
  • Pre/post-workout snacks and lunch for Saturday and Sunday (There is absolutely nowhere to buy food so bring it! Dinner will be provided.)
  • training clothes / rain jacket
  • resting clothes / warm Norwegian-style (hipster) sweaters / extra warm socks
  • homework or a book (there are no televisions but there is internet access in the main lodge)
  • sleeping clothes (something warm - or opt for a bed buddy instead ;)
  • water belt
  • heart rate monitor
  • a sense of fun and excitement!

We really will be Slaying the Dragon this weekend! RAGE!!!!
